Professor Cathy Choong

Dr Choong is a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist who trained in both Paediatric Endocrinology and General paediatrics. Her early research studies were in the field of molecular physiology and endocrinology of steroid hormone receptors at the University of Western Australia and the University of Chapel Hill with Professors French and Wilson as part of her doctoral studies in Disorders of Sexual Development. She is an adjunct Clinical Professor of Paediatrics, University of Western Australia  Medical School.

She is a current member of the Growth Hormone Research Society (International) Executive Committee and participated in international perspectives on growth hormone therapy.

She is the lead paediatric endocrinologist for the Haematology and Oncology programme at the Perth Children’s Hospital. She has a specific interest in hypothalamic and pituitary endocrinopathies and the metabolic consequences associated with congenital pituitary conditions and cancer therapy.
